My Misadventures!

A little photography lesson first:
Macro photography from wiki refers to close-up photography; the classical definition that the image projected on the "film plane" (i.e film or a digital sensor) is close to the same size as the subject.

Last night before finally going to sleep, i tinkered with my old
digicam and to my surprise, i can shoot on macro mode setting with the
flash on. hahaha. Did not know that since i got this cam.

Macro mode without flash: needs a tripod to get a sharp picture because of the longer exposure
Macro mode with flash(which i only discovered last night): Need
not have any tripod to capture objects at a closer distance because it
has a faster shutter/exposure?? speed.

Sorry if i sounded too techy.

So, i did try it on a not so interesting subject, but at least it could be a good gauge if its really working lol. (capture teh subject sharp up-close )

*The first semester of my final year(hopefully) as an architecture student ended last Monday with a lotto-type departmental exams. One concern though, fineprint indicates: use only #2 mongol pencil, and I used mongol pencil #1 for the first exam since i came late and that’s the only pencil i have. Hmmm… What’s with the #2 mongol?! More lead content?(fyi: pencils don’t really contain lead but graphite lol geek).

I already got my final(draft) of my thesis book from my adviser on that same day. I got a pretty decent grade despite my not so good performance(read ala Magic 89.90 sexytime). I still need to beef up a part(vol.2) of my thesis book because i also went on a vacation when manila was hit by thunderstorms. Come next semester, everyone should be ready with their schemes. So this translates to a (sarcasm on)fun-filled and relaxed semestral break.(sarcasm off)

*Last last week, i checked again Trinoma to see how it improved over my first visit during its soft opening. There were still some on-going constructions and most stores on the upper floors were still closed. Trinoma’s parking is a huge mess. It has wavy and uneven ramp widths, no pedestrian walk and some stupid turns and wrongly done islands(off haha). Trinoma seems to be following the same fate gateway has, a huge covered commercial access area for the commuters.

*Speaking of pbb2, big brother definitely has taste. All the girls inside pbb are hot. My favorite is the housemate from Canada. And there’s another ala-wendy tactless but sexy(lol) character that we’ll soon hate from the gameshow Deal or no deal briefcase girl(forgot her name). haha!

*I checked my site traffic and saw that most of my site referrals came from search engines. Yay! Did not know that friendster blogs are being indexed by search engines. Someone must be sneaking on (feelingero on)me(feelingero off) and my classmates rc and aissa because our names were used as keywords.

I read this from the internet and thought of sharing it to you guys.

Kapag may konti kang panahon, magkwentohan naman tayo, kahit sandali
lang. inip na ako sa bahay, maghapong nag-iisa. Walang kausap. Alam
kong busy ka sa trabaho, subalit nais kong malaman mo na sabik na sabik
na akong makakwentohan ka, kahit alam kong hindi ka interesado sa mga
kwento ko. Natatandaan mo anak, noong bata ka pa? Pinagtyagaan kong
pakinggan at intindihin ang pautal-utal mong kwento tungkol sa iyong
teddy bear.

At kapag dumating ang sandali na ako’y magkakasakit at maratay sa banig
ng karamdaman, huwag mo sana akong pagsawaan alagaan. Pagpasensyahan mo
na sana kung ako man ay maihi o madumi sa higaan, pagtyagaan mo sana
akong alagaan sa mga huling sandali ng aking buhay. Tutal hindi na
naman ako magtatagal.

Kapag dumating ang sandali ng aking pagpanaw, hawakan mo sana ang aking
kamay at bigyan mo ako ng lakas ng loob na harapin ang kamatayan.

At huwag kang mag-alala, kapag kaharap ko na ang Diyos na lumikha,
ibubulong ko sa kanya na pagapalain ka sana … dahil naging mapagmahal
ka sa iyong ama’t ina…

P.S anak kunin mo na panyo mo dyan sa bulsa mo at punasan mo ang iyong
luha natural lang yan wag ka ng mahiya….mahiya ka kapag wala ng
luhang pumatak sa mata mo.

The thesis thing is starting to get into my nerves. Up to now, i am not yet sure of what topic ill have for my thesis. I’ve finally scraped the idea of bagging the Outstanding Thesis but not the Thesis of the Year! lol! Seriously, i’d lean on a simpler thesis topic since i am not hearing good feedbacks RE: Thesis adviser. AND I am not that confident doing it with him. Yeah, it still depends upon the student’s performance, but hey, its not a one-man effort, we still need a good mentor.

FYI: The thesis professors were assigned to us by means of a raffle. Yup, yup, we all had to put our fate on those pingpong balls and cross our fingers that we’d possibly have the GOOD ones. I am not just sure if EVERYONE had their fate on the pingpong balls too or in the hands of the college OFFICE. Well, i’ve been hearing/reading alot of rumors regarding this, and i can’t hide my disappointment.

Sleep all, sleep all day. Haha. Its not a line from a song, That’s what i did on Christmas Day! I finally had the chance to attend(and serve God ala knights of the altar) the 9th day of the Misa de Gallo. As always, a lot of people were there including the not so often seen church people. Imagine them being there by as much as an hour ahead just to get hold of the seats of the "regulars". i just wish that they’ll also attend regular mass celebratiens not only during Christmas seasons and Holy weeks.

My cousin Camille will be celebrating her 18th birthday this 30th and i’m part of the cotillion. Hahaha! Potek we had our practice couple of days back and i must admit, i’m not a dancer! I was like an old rusty robot doing some calisthenics.  Hahahaha!

I still have to get some old and nice clothes(jacobian haha) for the debut’s retro theme. Fashion guru’s are welcome. Please do text me your suggestiens.

While the SM malls continue to mushroom all over the metro, Ayala on the other hand has managed to give SM Malls a run for its money by setting up a mall directly in front of SM City North Edsa. This new location will house "Triangle North of Makati" dubbed as Trinoma. Tri…… What?! Haha! What were they thinking when they were coming up with its name? Odd sounding, eh?

I for one did not imagine that place, the MRT Train depot, will be the site for the new Ayala Mall. In my humble opinion, Ayala is risking its "elite" image by putting a mall on a class B, C or a possible D market. I mean, look at the other Ayala malls, they’re exactly far from where this mall is catered. Well, on the good side, Trinoma is just a 20-minute drive from home. Haha! I can now get rid of the jolog infested SM North ESDA. Am not a jolog ha(defensive), i frequent that mall because its the only mall near our place with good variety of tenants..  FYI:Sm North is 2nd to MOA in terms of visitor traffic.

Trinoma is the next big thing for you shopping addicts, diners and moviegoers! It is said to be a multi-floor complex with a terraced garden inside the mall. Rumor has it that it will follow the Greenbelt 3 mall format with 7 Cinema’s one cinema. Also, it will sport some sort of a waterfall feature from the top floor all the way to ground level as opposed to the pond and fountain theme of GB3. Expected completion date shall be 3rd quarter next year. Thanks to SSC forums for the details(tsismis that is, hehe!).

Finally, the semester is over!!! Hello sembreak! I can now sleep all day, pig out, surf the net anytime, watch movies, play video
games, pamper myself(i’ve almost forgotten what vanity is and how it feels like to be pampered) etc. after almost a month of having
irregular sleeps induced by these end of sem-requirements and exams.  Woooooot!

I’m just disappointed because our supposedly good and fun way of ending the semester through a class outing was cancelled. I even remember how the class responded re: our class outing, most of the people were not interested and didn’t even bother to listen to our officers. Yeah, yeah, i know, everyone’s tired because of the hell-ish end of sem requirements(models, plates, exams, etc.), but it annoyed me when i  heard other people ranting that its too much(400/head) for an outing. PAANONG DI MAGIGING MAHAL EH DI KAYU SASAMA! HINDI NA NGA SASAMA, REKLAMO PA SA PRICE. Well, i also can’t blame people who can’t come because they’l be going back home to their hometowns.
Haaay.. nakakalungkot lang talaga.. Kung kelan malapit na kami mag-graduate at mas ok relationships namin sa isa’t isa, ngayon pa walang outing.

Anyhooo… enough of the venting out.

Class outing summer ‘06

Overall, the semester was not really that tiring if not because of the cramming i did the last few weeks (Haha.. as if nagbago ko). Requirements one after the other piled up. I did our planning project (yes its a group work done by a single person), cadd work, pro practice exams, reports, building critic and design plate. It did’nt seem to be that difficult though but what made it tough for me was the submission of requirement/exam after the other. Ah! I was also present most of the games of the Growling tigers since the Adamson/UST final four place deciding match.  Imagine yourself  hustling for tickets all over araneta and ust. Malamang pagod, one whole day wasted.

I’ve seen my works this sem and i can say, i’ve improved alot compared before.  In terms of  planning, model making, perspectives, cadd and other academic related stuffs. Only thing i am worried about is my logic subject. I think i flunked the final exams and only have enough total quizzes score to hit the passing grade. Sheesh, my flawless record in college is nearing its end. I’ve accepted my mistake, and i am in no way blaming our professor. Some made it, why can’t i…. Papa Jesus, lovelife na lang kulang.. hihi!

Haha, i got too overwhelmed when the Espana-based

cagers won the knockout match yesterday and posted
these observations. Whew, we even had classes suspended
from 4pm to 6pm just for us to support the cagers.

This is the 2nd time UST had an upset against 2nd-seeded
UE. Way back in 1994, I think, UST was in 3rd position and
had to beat UE twice to gain a finals slot. And they did.
There’s actually a lot more similarities from that season.

1. The second best team from the previous year was
suspended

2. The team who had an unbeaten streak was beaten
by ust in overtime. and both times a free throw
was the pivotal point of the game (lane violation
in 94, offensive rebound off missed free throw
this year)

3. The player everyone thought was most deserving
of an mvp award played on a 4th seeded team and
lost a very close game in the final four

4. UP had a trio of good rookies. 2 guards and one
forward

5. The first seed lost twice during the
eliminations. The second loss was a close one,
being decided in the closing seconds, to a school
coached by an alumnus from an archrival school.

6. UST’s season was dedicated to someone special
connected to the team, who recently died.

7. Not a semifinal connection, but very similar
nonetheless: As some other posters have pointed
out, on the final possession of UST’s opponent,
two misses by a high leaper at point-blank range
cost them the game.
